SE PA RA TI SM

presented by Swallow-a-Bicycle

A live performance about the forces pushing us apart, and what it means to be together.

For almost two years, the COVID-19 pandemic has separated us – physically, ideologically, globally. And that’s not all. It feels like, everywhere we look, there are forces driving us apart. In a swirling, crisis-ridden, divided world, what does it mean to be together?

In Se Pa Ra Ti Sm, four maverick artists, Bianca Guimarães de Manuel, Mark Hopkins, Pam Tzeng and Matthew Waddell, grapple with how anonymous systems shape their identities and relationships, and how those shifting landscapes play out in logic-defying Alberta.

Join them in a world of abstract cowboys, digital avatars, busted stereotypes and modern mythologies, for a vivid and visceral exploration around big questions of self-determination and mutual dependence!
